Hopper Operator

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum of O‑Level qualification (WAEC/GCE certificate).
  
• Minimum of 1–2 years experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, or similar field (experience with sugar or bulk material handling is an advantage).
  
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment operations.
  
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, industrial environment.
  
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  
• Strong attention to safety and equipment handling procedures.
  

• Operate sugar ship discharge hoppers safely and efficiently during vessel unloading activities.
  
• Carry out daily operation and monitoring of all assigned sugar hoppers.
  
• Perform daily removal and cleaning of spillage sugar from the drag‑out pit to maintain a clean working environment.
  
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of Robson equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  
• Report any equipment malfunction, abnormal noise, or operational issues to the supervisor promptly.
  
• Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards during all operations.
  
• Participate in preventive maintenance plans as scheduled by the Maintenance/Engineering team.
  
• Support operational activities to ensure smooth sugar flow from discharge point to storage/processing areas.
