Learning Videographer Consultant

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in videography and photography
  • Experience in program learning and documentation in humanitarian context
  • Proven experience working in a humanitarian context in Northeast Nigeria
  • Proven experience working in humanitarian, development, or social impact programs (NGO/UN/donor-funded projects preferred)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating documentary storytelling, field photography, and video production work
  • Strong skills in video editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong photo editing skills using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar software
  • Experience working in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings, preferably in Northeast Nigeria or similar contexts
  • Knowledge of local languages in Northeast Nigeria


Responsibilities

Program Familiarization

  • Conduct a detailed review of key program documents, including:
  • Proposals and logframes
  • Donor reports
  • Learning briefs and evaluations
  • Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) findings

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Hold inception meetings with:
  • Program teams
  • MEL teams
  • Communications team

Development of Documentation Plan

The consultant will develop and submit a Visual Documentation Plan, including:

  • Detailed work plan and field schedule
  • Location selection and justification
  • Shot list categorized by:
  • Activities
  • Stakeholders
  • Learning themes

Visual Documentation of Program Implementation

Capture high-quality visuals of:

Program Activities

  • Cash and voucher distributions
  • Food assistance interventions
  • WASH infrastructure and usage
  • Livelihood and agricultural activities
  • Shelter construction/rehabilitation

Implementation Processes

  • Targeting and beneficiary selection processes
  • Registration and verification processes
  • Distribution workflows
  • Community mobilization activities

Service Delivery Quality

  • Interaction between staff and beneficiaries
  • Inclusion of vulnerable groups
  • Accessibility and efficiency of services

Community Engagement and Accountability

Document:

  • Community meetings and engagement forums
  • Feedback and complaints mechanisms (CFMs) in action
  • Participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups
  • Evidence of how community input informs programming
