Description
- Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal injuries, deformities, and disorders through clinical evaluation, imaging interpretation, and diagnostic testing.
- Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, including trauma, joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, and corrective surgeries.
- Provide comprehensive pre‑operative planning and post‑operative care to ensure safe recovery and optimal functional outcomes.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that may include surgical and non‑surgical interventions such as casting, bracing, and rehabilitation.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, operative notes, and patient records in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control practices, and adherence to surgical safety protocols.
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic techniques, technologies, and evidence‑based practices to enhance service delivery.
Qualification Requirements
- MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
- Full registration and current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Successful attainment of a recognized specialist fellowship, such as; FWACS (Orthopaedics); FMCS (Orthopaedics)
- Demonstrated competence in trauma care, joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, and other core orthopedic surgical procedures.
