Job Description

  • Our client is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Packaging Maintenance Supervisor at their Factory in Ota, Ogun state.
  • The successful candidate should have a willingness to take initiative, a history of successful leadershipand a desire to be part of a team seeking continual improvement.
  • Troubleshooting experience, maintenance planning and preventative/predictive maintenance experience required.
  • Formal packaging education, packaging experience and advanced computer skills are a bonus.
  • This position will also oversee the sanitation team and will need food safety, chemical safety/handling experience.
  • We are looking for someone with sound fundamental knowledge of high speed packaging who can hit the ground running.

Job Duties
But not limited to:

  • The Packaging/Maintenance Supervisor will work hand in hand with the operators, mechanics and electricians daily.
  • They will set high standards for workmanship, mentor in your areas of expertise and learn processes that are not yet familiar to you, while offering a fresh set of eyes to the plant.
  • Administrative duties including employee scheduling, assist the Packaging Supervisor with scheduling of product runs (not limited to beer availability, packaging material needs and man power requirements) provide proposed department needs in terms of personnel and equipment, equipment downtime tracking, limited purchasing and tracking of costs.
  • Work with our safety director and maintain site compliance for all guidelines and safety requirements. Familiarity with OSHA regulations are a bonus.
  • Activities will be directly linked to improving safety, quality, packaging, racking and warehousing efficiencies and costs through sound planning and scheduling practices and implementation.
  • Learn all plant processes and become well educated in the packaging industry benchmarks, along with providing a new set of eyes to question the status quo.
  • Hands-on leadership can and should be provided in order to maximize our packaging capabilities, demonstrate knowledge, teamwork and establish leadership in the packaging department.
  • Work closely with all department managers and team leaders to develop relationships, learn their department operations and understand their needs and communicate packaging plans and limitations.
  • The indicators of performance for the packaging department will in part be linked to key performance indicators such as safety, quality, packaging line efficiencies, utility usage on a per barrel basis, waste reduction, etc.
