- We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement officer for our client in the Oil and Gas industry. A procurement officer is responsible for managing the purchasing process within an organization, ensuring that goods, services, and materials are acquired at the best possible price and quality.
Job Duties
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans and strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on factors such as price, quality, and delivery time.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions for accuracy, and ensure timely processing of orders.
- Monitor contract performance, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Ensure that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, supplier consolidation, or negotiation tactics.
