Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters Degree in Data/ Information Systems, Project Management, Development Studies, Computer Science, or any other related courses.
  • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
  • Professional certification in Data Management, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Monitoring & Evaluation is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the lITA project database, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity at all times.
  • Analyze, interpret, and capture all project-related data arising from donor and partner contractual agreements, including contracts, amendments, MoUs, and similar instruments, within the project database.
  • Analyze, interpret, and record project information from proposals, concept notes, and related project development documents in the database.
  • Interpret and configure project deliverables, reporting timelines, milestones, and other contractual obligations expected of IITA within the project database.
  • Upload, update, and systematically manage all project-related documents within the database in line with institutional standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the unit and the system support units on all project database-related matters, in consultation with the Head of Unit.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Unit to ensure timely and accurate monthly updates to the CGIAR Pipeline database.
  • Actively contribute to the preparation of periodic reports for the unit, lITA management, Board of Trustees meetings, CGIAR Performance Monitoring Exercises, and other reporting requirements as needed, submitting such reports to the Head of Unit for review and onward transmission.
  • Oversee the Technical and Project Database sub-unit, providing periodic performance and status reports to the Head of Unit.
  • Train users, grant access, and respond to requests and queries from scientists regarding the use and functionality of the project database.
  • Serve as the focal person for scientists' performance appraisal matters related to projects and proposals submitted through the database.
  • Support the Head of Unit in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project development and administration at lITA.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Unit and other team leads to support and advance the unit's strategic initiatives and institutional goals.
  • Perform any other duties as may be appropriately assigned by the Head of Unit in response to service exigencies.
