Mechanical Supervisor ( UGANDA) - Kenyan/ Ugandan Nationals

OBJECTIVES.

To supervise the work of Plant Maintenance Mechanics to achieve the departmental objectives and ensure all mechanical equipment are operational at all times.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.

Higher or Ordinary Diploma In Mechanical Engineering.

3 year relevant experience in a similar role.

AUTHORITY AND INDEPENDENCE.

The Mechanical Supervisor has full authority delegated by the Mechanical Maintenance Officer as per the requirements, duties, and responsibility of the job.

WORK CONDITIONS.

Required to lift or move items that weigh up to 20 kilograms.

You have to adhere to safety precautions due to high risk involved in operating electrical equipments.

You may require to work in height raised place eg. roof tops.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT.

Reasonable level of fitness.

Able to work well under pressure.

Normal color vision.

Adaptable and tactful when dealing with different group of people.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE.

Strong general management and demonstrated leadership skills.

Good at creativity, analyzing and innovative skills in managing projects.

Should be a problem- solver.

Ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgement.

Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills.

DUTIES

Supervise the work of Plant Maintenance Mechanics in the repair, maintenance and installation of plant equipment and machinery.

Schedule, assign, plan and monitor the work of subordinates.

Plan and develop work schedules, equipment usage schedule and procedure for equipment and appliance maintenance.

Monitor the acquisition and use of materials.

Assist Mechanical Officer in design requirement.
