Description
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in protection programming, humanitarian response, or capacity building. Moreover, we also expect the following.
Required
A Bachelor’s degree in Law, social sciences, development studies, guidance and counselling or related field.
Strong knowledge of international protection standards (e.g., UNHCR, ICRC, Sphere, Child Protection Minimum Standards).
Experience in training facilitation, adult learning methodologies, and organizational development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations.
Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Computer packages
Good organizational and management skills.
Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects desired.
Ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions
Responsibilities
Project development and implementation
Follow up on the quality of implementation of project activities at the field level, including appropriate documentation and management of protection cases.
Provide hands-on training, coaching, mentoring to protection staff, ensuring clarity on protection tools and standards in consultation with protection coordinator.
Identify key advocacy messages and promote dissemination of these within the operational context.
Coordinate with the protection specialist to develop and deliver training modules on protection principles, safeguarding, child protection, gender-based violence (GBV), and humanitarian standards.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and technical support to staff and partners.
Coordination and representation
Collaborate with local NGOs, community groups, and government agencies to strengthen protection networks.
Represent the organization in protection coordination forums and working groups.
Facilitate knowledge-sharing and best practices across teams and partners.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Support planning and ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with project objectives and work plan.
Collaborate & Coordinate with M& E team to ensure monitoring activities are mainstreamed with protection and ensure protection of vulnerable groups while gathering appropriate and accurate data on protection outcomes.
With support from MEAL, develop indicators and tools to measure protection capacity strengthening outcomes.
Document lessons learned and contributed to organizational learning.
Contribute to preparation and submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
Logistics /Finance
Monitor financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on budget follow-ups.
Liase with DRC Administration, Logistics, and Finance Departments and the Protection Manager to ensure smooth operation of the field office.
