To plan, review and monitor the implementation of the public relations

and corporate social Responsibility programs of the City in line with theCity Mandate and Town Clerks Office guide lines
a) Academic Qualifications

(i) An honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in either Mass communication

(Public Relations option), or Journalism or any other related coursefrom a recognized University or Institution of higher learning

b) Work Experience

i. A minimum of three (3) years of working experience in PublicRelations at Communication Officer level in Government or from areputable organization

b) Work Experience

i. A minimum of three (3) years of working experience in PublicRelations at Communication Officer level in Government or from areputable organization


i. Developing the annual public relations and communications work
plan and coordinate implementation in line with the approvedbudget.

ii. Develop, review and update the public relations andcommunications policies of the City as per the CITY objectives andcore values

iii. Planning, monitoring and coordinating implementation of the

corporate social responsibility and the corporate socialinvestments activities of the City in line with the City BusinessPlan,

iv. Representing the City at local, regional and international eventsto identify learning points and engage Directors on the key issuesidentified in line with the public relations policies and procedures

v. Receiving and reviewing complaints, responding to queries andadvising stakeholders and make recommendations to theExecutive Director in line with the departmental policy, andguidelines.

vi. Preparing performance reports.

vii. Keeping close contact and watch media houses on publications/stories that may affect the reputation of the City

viii. Developing and monitoring the implementation of programs

aiming at promoting the City visibility among the public byproactively monitoring to ensure that the City’s events andachievements attract attention and publicity in the media.
