Every job interview you go to asks for it but you’re just fresh from campus or even still studying as you wait to graduate so you don’t have much. Meet Joseline Tumukunde, a young 20-year-old Bachelor of Economics student of Makerere University who went through this experience.
“When the lockdown happened, I was stuck at home idle so I decided to look for a job but everywhere I looked they required job experience which I didn’t have as a student. Lucky for me, a friend introduced me to the Jforce program, “ she says.
A lot of young students and graduates share Joseline’s plight, looking for jobs but with little to no experience can be hard, almost impossible. That is where the Jumia JForce program comes in. The JForce program is Jumia’s sales consultants’ program that allows young people like Joseline to place orders on behalf of interested customers on the Jumia platform and make a commission with each sale they make.
“Since joining JForce, I have learnt so much about advertising and sales that I know if I get a job in advertising right now, I would be able to do it very easily just from the skills I have acquired.
The experience has also allowed me to make my own money to support myself without turning to my parents for help. I struggled in the beginning, but I now make upwards of 120K in commission.” Joseline adds.
The JForce program is free of charge and allows anyone interested in sales to join. All you need is a valid national ID and smartphone to register and you can start earning money. You can join via the Jumia website here or on Fuzu.
