Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent in a relevant field.

• 10 years of experience in engineering

• 5 years’ experience on road projects in developing countries

• Experience working on similar assignments in Sub-Saharan Africa and, ideally, in Uganda.

• Knowledge of the Islamic Development Bank, World Bank, EU, and other major funding agency project implementation procedures.

• Knowledge of UNRA and appropriate regional/international design and construction standards.

• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team preferably with Ugandan consultants.

• Knowledge of the Islamic Development Bank, World Bank, EU, and other major funding agency project implementation procedures.

• Knowledge of UNRA and appropriate regional/international design and construction standards.

• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team preferably with Ugandan consultants.


• Participate in carrying out detailed design reviews and revisions.

• Assist the TL/Resident Engineer in the quality control of all project materials (Soil/rock fill and Pavement layers. etc.) on-site, and source (quarry and borrow pits… etc.)

• Supervision for sampling and the Material in the quarry and borrow bit, at source … etc.

• Administration and effective control of all labs. Activities, equipment and testing, effective management of the lab. Technicians, in addition to the supervision of all laboratory testing and reporting.

• Review and comments on the contractor submissions (letters, RFI’s, submittals, Transmittals, Shop Drawings, reports… etc.)

• Review and approve of Material Quality.

• Draft response letters for relevant correspondences in due time.

• Ensure to undertake comprehensive day-to-day field inspection and contract supervision, quality assurance, measurements, administration services, and site instructions at the site.

• Supervision and quality control of the prefabrication of structures but not limited to pipe culverts, kerb stones… etc.

• Ensure that all the works are executed in accordance with all the provisions of the contract, including those concerning standards.

• Participate in the Monthly, Technical meetings… etc.

• Preparation of Quality Control Reports and Monthly Progress Reports on due time and of high quality.

• Any other relevant activities requested by the Resident Engineer.
