Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Shipping In-Charge to manage day-to-day shipping, warehouse dispatch, route operations, stock management, returns, and transportation activities. The candidate will be responsible for effectively managing a team of 30–40 employees and ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely dispatch operations while maintaining proper documentation and operational KPIs.
Education / Required skills
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
4–5 years of relevant experience in FMCG, Dairy, Beverages, or a similar distribution
environment.
Strong knowledge of SAP, including relevant transaction processes, reports, and inventory/warehouse-related functions.
Good understanding of route sales and Van Sales operations.
Knowledge of Warehouse Management and Distribution Operations.
Strong understanding of Stock Management, FIFO, Inward/Outward, and Physical Stock Counting.
Knowledge of Return Management and Route/Returns Reconciliation.
Experience in Route Planning and Driver/Salesman Management.
Ability to manage and coordinate 30–40 team members.
Basic understanding of Cold Chain and Dairy/Beverage Warehouse Operations.
Good knowledge of Transport Management and POD Management.
Ability to prepare and maintain Daily, Weekly, and Monthly MIS and operational reports.
Knowledge of Warehouse KPIs and operational performance monitoring.
Strong coordination, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in all shifts and under operational pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily shipping, dispatch, and warehouse operations to ensure timely and
accurate deliveries.
Plan and manage sales routes, Van Sales, route allocation, and route reconciliation.
Supervise and coordinate Salesmen, Drivers, Warehouse Staff, and other operational
team members.
Manage and monitor a team of approximately 30–40 employees, ensuring proper manpower utilization and productivity.
Prepare and execute manpower planning and shift allocation according to
operational requirements.
Handle stock management, including physical stock verification, FIFO implementation,
stock movement, and inventory accuracy.
Manage inward and outward warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatching, and
proper documentation.
Ensure accurate physical stock counting, GRNs, MIS, and other warehouse-related records.
Manage returns processing and reconciliation, ensuring returned goods are properly
recorded, segregated, and accounted for.
Ensure effective POD (Proof of Delivery) management, follow-up, documentation, and
reconciliation.
Monitor and reconcile daily route sales, dispatch quantities, returns, and stock balances.
Coordinate route planning and ensure optimum utilization of vehicles and delivery
resources.
Ensure proper handling and documentation of warehouse and transportation activities.
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and records.
Monitor warehouse KPIs, transport KPIs, stock accuracy, delivery performance, route efficiency, and returns.
Ensure compliance with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and proper stock rotation.
Maintain a high level of operational discipline, accuracy, safety, and housekeeping within the
warehouse and shipping area.
Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Transport teams to resolve operational issues.
Ensure smooth operations across all shifts and remain flexible according to business requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational losses, stock variances, delivery issues, and returns.
