Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or PharmD from an accredited university
  • Postgraduate Qualifications (at least one of the following)
  • Master of Pharmacy (MPharm); Pharmaceutical Management, Industrial Pharmacy
    • OR a relevant Master’s degree, such as:
  • MBA (Marketing, Strategic Management, Healthcare Management)
  • MSc. in Marketing
  • MSc. in Health Economics / Health Systems / Pharmaceutical Policy
  • A PhD is desirable.

Professional & Regulatory Requirements

  • Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya
  • Meets Commission for University Education (CUE) requirements for adjunct faculty

Industry & Teaching Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in pharmaceutical marketing, such as:
    • Medical representative / product manager roles
    • Market access, sales strategy, or brand management
    • Regulatory affairs or pharmacoeconomics
  • Prior teaching, guest lecturing, or professional training experience is preferred
  • Practical exposure to:
    • Ethical promotion of medicines
    • Pharmacoeconomics and pricing
    • Market research and product lifecycle management


Responsibilities
  • Delivering high-quality instruction in pharmaceutical marketing and related courses
  • Supporting student learning through mentorship, supervision, and academic advising
  • Engaging in research and scholarly activities that contribute to pharmacy practice and education
  • Providing clinical expertise to support experiential learning and professional development
  • Promote and uphold the mission and values of USIU–Africa
  • Teach and precept pharmacy students at approved clinical sites
  • Participate in the Skills Laboratory, including physical assessment training
  • Provide Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services at designated clinical sites
  • Coordinate courses and develop instructional and assessment materials
  • Contribute to the planning, administration, and academic activities of the School of Pharmacy
  • Organize and participate in inter-professional education and training initiatives
  • Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to assigned students
  • Contribute to overall student success, including academic performance, progression, and outcomes
