Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations, take history, perform physical examinations, and order necessary investigations.
- Diagnose and manage common illnesses and injuries in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Prescribe medications and treatment in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide emergency care, including resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill patients.
- Refer patients appropriately for specialized care when necessary.
- Participate in health education, promotion, and disease prevention activities.
- Support implementation of immunization, maternal and child health, and chronic disease management programs.
- Participate in community outreach and health screening programs.
- Participate in ward rounds and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records.
- Adhere to clinical protocols, infection prevention and control standards, and safety procedures.
- Participate in Continuous Medical Education sessions and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and institutional policies.
- Contribute to audit processes and reporting on clinical performance indicators.
Skill & Experience
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya and holding a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-internship clinical experience in a busy healthcare facility-preferred.
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is an added advantage.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
