Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
- MMed in ENT, Head & Neck Surgery/Otorhinolaryngology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
- Fellowship/sub-specialty training in Rhinology/Anterior Skull Base Surgery recognized by KMPDC.
- Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Recognition as a specialist/sub-specialist by KMPDC.
- Retention in the KMPDC register.
- Valid Practice License from KMPDC.
- Valid Indemnity Cover.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage complex rhinologic and anterior skull base diseases including chronic rhinosinusitis and neoplasms.
- Perform endoscopic sinus and skull base procedures within credentialed scope.
- Coordinate peri-operative care with neurosurgery, radiology, oncology, and anaesthesia.
- Establish protocols for image-guided surgery, hemostasis, and CSF leak management.
- Provide outpatient clinics and inpatient consults including emergency management of complications.
- Contribute to MDT tumour boards and care planning.
- Teach and mentor trainees in advanced rhinology.
- Lead audits, outcomes tracking, and research in rhinology/skull base surgery.
