Factory Machinist (Roller Sharpener)

We invite applications for the post of Factory Machinist. This is a Grade 3 position.

The Job

Reporting to the Factory Foreman, the job holder will be responsible for managing factory machinery and related resources effectively and efficiently, i.e., installation, repair, service, and maintenance work, in order to avail the plant and equipment for the production process.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Production / Plant options; or Craft Technician
  

• 1 year of experience in a busy factory environment/machining shop
  

• Computer Literate
  

• Excellent communication skills
  

• Good organising and planning skills
  

• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  

• Must be a team player
  

• Operate the milling and grooving machines
  

• Machine the CTC rollers to the required parameters
  

• Carry out any other machining works
  

• Install the CTC rollers on the frame and set them out.
  

• Assist in machinery maintenance
  

• Attend to machinery breakdowns expeditiously and call for assistance where necessary
  

• Maintain the stipulated manufacturing parameter
  

• Comply with accreditation systems, e.g., ISO 22000 food safety, EHS, Rain Forest Alliance (RA), Fair Trade (FT), Organic Soil Association (SA), and drive total compliance with their policies and procedures
  

• Be conversant with Continuous Improvement programs and implement all the principles therein
  

• Ensuring that all employees in the section are clocking in/out correctly as per the
  procedure

• Ensures that food safety is achieved at all times through good manufacturing practices and isolating contaminants
  

• Update and maintain all documentation in the section
  

• Ensure the safety and health of oneself and other employees at work
