Description
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor hospital revenue, expenses, and cash flow to maintain financial stability.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the CEO and Board.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the hospital’s annual budget.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to guide operational and strategic decisions.
- Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to align financial planning with the hospital’s long-term goals.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and sustainable growth.
Compliance & Audit Management:
- Ensure financial operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and donor requirements.
- Coordinate both internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls to safeguard hospital assets.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring continuity of operations.
Grant & Donor Funds Management:
- Manage donor funding and grants, ensuring compliance with donor agreements.
- Track fund utilization and prepare financial reports for donors and partners.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the finance team.
- Provide financial training to non-financial staff to enhance budget discipline.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in healthcare or the non-profit sector.
- Solid understanding of financial management software and ERP systems.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and healthcare financial models.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and grant management.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
