Description
The Marketing Business Analyst is responsible for managing the marketing budget, forecasting expenses, and collaborating with various departments, including Accounting. This role also supports the Vice Presidents and the Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Management and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage marketing budgets.
- Forecast future expenses and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Compare actual monthly expenditures against projections.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee operational aspects of the budget.
- Decide on fund allocation across different categories.
Expense Tracking:
- Monitor and track marketing expenses.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
Invoice Management:
- Process, verify, and reconcile invoices.
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure smooth payment processes.
Data Analysis:
- Use Excel to analyze budget and forecast data.
- Generate reports and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Contract Tracking:
- Track financial terms, cost renewals, and timelines for service and subscription contracts.
- Maintain a contract database.
Performance Metrics:
- Track and report key financial and budget performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare data for sharing with data analytics managers and the events team.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Accounting, Sales, and Integration.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Implement best practices to enhance budget and forecasting efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in budget management, expense tracking, and invoice processing.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
