Head Data Applications & Integration

RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULT AREAS

1. Provide strategic leadership for the Data Platforms, Engineering and Integrations section.
   

2. Oversee Platform Administration, Data Engineering and Data Integrations functions.
   

3. Contribute and oversee the implementation of the enterprise Data Architecture framework and technology roadmap.
   

4. Lead selection, implementation, and optimization of data management platforms and tools.
   

5. Develop and execute data cloud strategy and hybrid infrastructure management.
   

6. Ensure integration between data platforms, analytics tools, and existing CBK systems.
   

7. Manage existing data platform administrators, data integration and data engineers while building new capabilities
   

8. Drive platform security, performance, availability, and reliability standards.
   

9. Manage technical partnerships with vendors and service providers.
   

10. Ensure alignment with IT enterprise, Data architecture and cybersecurity requirements.
    

11. Any other roles and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
    

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
   

2. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
   

3. At least two (2) relevant certifications {CISSP, CCSP, ITIL v4, Certifications in Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, Integration Engineering, Cloud Computing or Platform Operations.
   

YEARS AND NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

1. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise data platforms, data engineering solutions, and integration architectures, with at least five (5) years in a senior technical leadership role within central banking, financial services, government, telecommunications or regulatory institutions.
   

2. At least five (5) years demonstrated experience leading and governing enterprise data engineering, platform administration, and integration functions, including oversight of teams responsible for data platforms, ETL/ELT development, enterprise integrations, and production support services.
   

3. Proven experience managing enterprise-scale data ecosystems comprising Oracle Databases, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle SOA Suite, API platforms, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies, cloud and hybrid platforms, and modern data engineering frameworks to support analytics, reporting, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
   

4. Proven experience managing the development, operation, and optimization of enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, workflow orchestration, and automated data processing solutions using technologies such as Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent platforms.
   

5. Strong expertise in enterprise integration technologies, including Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebLogic, API-led integration, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), microservices, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and secure integration of internal and external systems.
   

6. Strong understanding of cloud and on-premise infrastructure, platform security, cybersecurity, high availability, disaster recovery, resilience engineering, and regulatory compliance within highly regulated environments.
   

7. Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging technologies, modernize legacy data and integration platforms, and drive the adoption of innovative engineering capabilities to support advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
   

8. Proven ability to develop technology roadmaps and lead the evolution to modern, scalable, secure, and AI-ready data platforms.
   

9. Demonstrated experience establishing data engineering standards, architecture principles, platform reliability frameworks, and integration governance models across multidisciplinary technical teams.
