Description
What are we looking for?
- A university degree, preferably in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, or Business Management.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in managing livelihood improvement projects within the private sector or NGOs.
- You must be passionate about driving economic growth for underserved populations and comfortable working in slums and other remote areas of the country.
- Knowledge and experience in distribution, community outreach programs, and people management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with working knowledge of Kiswahili being essential.
- Someone who is comfortable working within an agile, startup-like business context.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and retain a network of micro-entrepreneurs (Uplifters, Hawkers, and Stockpoints) in hard-to-reach communities.
- Identify and develop new areas for geographical expansion, including creating rollout plans and routes.
- Deliver on sales volume targets and collaborate with internal teams to ensure stock availability and execute operational plans.
- Conduct training and development for entrepreneurs through the MAUA Academy, mentorship, and other capacity-building programs.
- Manage local operations, including budgeting, reporting on performance metrics, and representing the Maua Business in local forums and stakeholder meetings.
- Collect and encode data to support the measurement and evaluation of the Maua program, including tracking non-financial performance metrics.
