Required Professional Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience 2 of which must be in any of the following; Food and Nutrition, Nutrition and Advocacy, School meals, policy and advocacy programming in NGOs
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Experience in nutrition policy and advocacy.
- Must have proven analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Proven ability to work with Government agencies, cultivate long term partnerships with National and County stakeholders, and local communities.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

A bachelor’s degree in nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science, Early Childhood Development, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A postgraduate degree or diploma in Project Management and/or Policy and Advocacy will be an added advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Experience with NGO desired.
- Personal commitment to Christ with ability to stand above denominational diversities
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate training initiatives
- Should demonstrate ability to work in multicultural, multidenominational and multi-faith environments
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge and commitment to WV’s ethos, philosophy of work, and CORE documents.
Responsibilities
Programmatic and technical support for School meals project
- Provide technical support and overall coordination, planning, implementing and evaluating the KeSMA- Tuimarishe Lishe Bora Shuleni program
- Facilitate Networking and collaborating with School Meal partners across project sites.
- Develop work-plans & budget (Detailed Implementation plans), Donor Reporting (Annual, Semi-annual and Quarterly) including documentation of best practices and success stories.
- Ensure school meals interventions are within schedule, plans and budgets and develop periodic reports.
- Mainstream interventions with gender, child protection and participation, disability and Christian values.
- Identify local needs and resources and take appropriate programming measures.
Quality assurance for programmatic Designs, Assessments, Monitoring and Evaluation processes
- Support timely mobilization and effective communication with communities and stakeholders during school meals mapping, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure monthly monitoring of project indicators and facilitate regular reflections with school meals coalition to make improvements with schools, community and partners.
- Lead development of school meals database for CSOs at National level.
- Ensure collection and collation of school meals information on database and share with relevant stakeholders.
- In liaison with M&E department ensure project evaluations and assessments are conducted as appropriate.
- Identify, document and disseminate promising practices on school meals advocacy within the grant.
- Participate and/convene County forums for sharing and learning while involving project stakeholders.
- Ensure the project achieves Child Well-Being Outcomes in line with the organization’s Ministry Framework and Development Approach, and WVK’s strategic priorities and the project designs.
- Ensure that accurate and quality project implementation plan (PIP), Annual work plans (AWP) and 4D matrix are developed and utilized.
- Monitor monthly project expenditure.
