The driver is responsible for transporting staff and goods and maintenance of vehicles including daily checks, regular washing and servicing.

Role Summary

The driver is responsible for transporting staff and goods and maintenance of vehicles including daily checks, regular washing and servicing.


1. Drive staff to approved destinations to perform work-related duties.

2. Maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times:

● Ensuring that vehicles receive a full wash (body, engine, interior and underside) at least once a week using provided equipment and materials.

● Pre-trip cleaning including dusting of seats and windows.

● Post-trip cleaning including removal of used bottles, masks and documents

3. Ensure the safety of all vehicles and other logistical equipment, including storing portable items and ensuring that car doors are locked every evening.

4. Inspections and maintenance:

a. Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure that vehicles are in good working order. Report and follow up on any issues that cannot be rectified by the driver.

b. Perform pre-trip inspections and maintenance to ensure that vehicles are in good working order before engine is started. Report and follow up on any issues that cannot be rectified by the driver.

c. Perform a weekly inspection of all vehicles and complete inspection reports. Follow up on inspection reports to ensure that minor issues are resolved before they develop into major problems.

5. Maintain and update a vehicle service and repair record that includes mileage at which service or repair was done, with the help of the Admin Officer.

6. Maintain vehicle worksheets and ensure they are updated per stop. Ensure that vehicles always have a worksheet, travel authority, movement plan and other important documents.

7. Ensure all staff who drive or use vehicles/motorcycles owned by the organization adhere to all traffic regulations and sign the worksheets appropriately.

8. Perform any other duties as assigned by line managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Diploma in a relevant field.

2. Driving experience of three years and above, part of which should be as part of a company or an organization.

3. Demonstrated experience of driving Toyota Landcruiser and Toyota Hilux vehicles.

4. Training in basic vehicle maintenance.

5. Ability to use Microsoft applications.

6. Current police clearance certificate.

7.Holder of a valid driving license is a MUST.
