As our operations and financial activity continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Finance Professional to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end finance function, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial controls.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in managing financial operations and delivering accurate reporting in previous roles. Experience within the real estate or property sector is highly advantageous.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Proficient in Xero, with advanced working knowledge of the platform

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple companies and property service lines using Xero - Record and categorise income and expenses by company, property, and service type - Reconcile all bank, credit card, and payment platform transactions (including Stripe, Airbnb, and letting agents) - Manage deposits, council tax, insurance, maintenance, and service charge allocations - Maintain audit-ready records and support external accountants with year-end submissions

Invoicing, Receivables & Arrears

- Generate and issue invoices for rent, management fees, and commissions - Track all receivables and maintain accurate aged debtor reports - Proactively monitor and chase outstanding rent payments and arrears - Coordinate with letting agents and tenants for payment resolution - Maintain clear communication records and follow structured follow-up procedures

Financial Reporting & Analysis

- Produce timely monthly management accounts and cash flow reports for each entity - Provide clear P&L breakdowns by property and service line - Analyse trends in occupancy, voids, expenses, and income - Deliver financial insights and highlight risks or anomalies to directors - Assist with forecasting and financial planning across the portfolio

Compliance & VAT

- Monitor VAT thresholds and prepare/submit VAT returns using Xero MTD - Liaise with payroll providers and support basic payroll data entry - Ensure Companies House, HMRC, and banking compliance requirements are met - Provide accurate financial data for external accountants

Systems & Automation

- Advanced working knowledge of Xero is essential - Comfortable setting up and managing integrations with platforms like Dext, Hubdoc, Stripe, Airbnb, etc. - Tech-savvy with the ability to streamline workflows, automate processes, and implement financial efficiency tools - Experience with automation tools (e.g., ApprovalMax, Zapier, Google Sheets integrations) is a strong advantage

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven bookkeeping experience in a multi-entity or property business - In-depth knowledge of Xero (including tracking categories, reporting, and reconciliations) - Hands-on experience with invoicing, credit control, and arrears recovery - Strong analytical skills and confidence using Excel or Google Sheets - Detail-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills - Ability to work independently and liaise with accountants, directors, and property managers

Desirable (but not essential)

- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA - Familiarity with supported accommodation or care sector financials - Previous implementation of accounting integrations or automation tools
