Description
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Regional Business Manager to lead our operations across East Africa while driving the growth of our Nigeria branch. Based in Nairobi, the successful candidate will oversee regional sales performance, lead cross-functional teams, strengthen strategic customer relationships, and spearhead expansion into new markets. This role requires frequent travel across Kenya and Nigeria to support business growth, customer engagement, and operational excellence.
- Lead and manage the regional sales teams across Kenya and Nigeria, ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, personally leading negotiations and closing high-value strategic deals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Kenya hub and support the continued growth and development of the Nigeria branch.
- Coordinate sales, service, administration, and operational functions to ensure seamless business performance across both markets.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives across East and West Africa.
- Coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor business performance through KPIs, preparing regular reports and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Work closely with finance and administration teams to ensure sound financial management, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and strategic business engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10- 15 years' experiencein sales leadership, business management, or regional management.
- Proven experience managing business operations in both Kenya or Nigeria is essential.
- Strong industry knowledge within dairy, cosmetics, industrial manufacturing, or related B2B sectors.
- Demonstrated success leading regional sales teams and consistently achieving ambitious commercial targets.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, and Service Engineers.
- Strong understanding of distribution models, business development, and channel management.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and administrative processes.
- Excellent negotiation, customer relationship management, and strategic planning skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Strong people leadership and coaching abilities.
- Highly organized with excellent planning and execution skills.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills.
