Description
Role purpose:

Drive profitable sales growth across East Africa by winning new business, developing priority accounts, and executing disciplined follow-through from lead generation to repeat orders.

Reporting Line and Positioning.
  • Reports to Senior Sales Account Manager - Team Lead

  • Works closely with Deputy General Manager - Key Accounts & Operations

  • Overall supervision - Managing Director

  • Location - Nairobi, Kenya

  • Travel Regular travel within Kenya and East Africa, as required.

Role Summary:

  • We are looking for a commercially driven, energetic, and structured Sales Executive to support the growth of our business across East Africa.

  • This role combines proactive new business development with disciplined account management.

  • It requires strong field execution, a sense of urgency, high follow-up discipline, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams to convert opportunities into sustainable business.

  • The Sales Executive will play an important role in expanding market presence, building customer relationships, and ensuring that commercial opportunities are followed through with professionalism and consistency.


Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and grow an assigned territory, customer segment, or pipeline in line with agreed commercial targets.

  • Identify, prospect, and convert new customers through structured outbound activity, market mapping, referrals, and channel development.

  • Respond quickly to inbound leads and ensure timely qualification, follow-up, and next-step execution.

  • Manage and develop existing accounts, particularly small and medium-sized customers, to drive repeat orders, retention, and account growth.

  • Maintain a healthy and well-documented pipeline in CRM, including stage, value, next actions, close timing, decision makers, and risks.

  • Coordinate internally with technical, operations, supply chain, finance, and management teams for samples, quotations, pricing, trials, and order execution.

  • Prepare quotations, customer follow-up, visit reports, and commercial updates in a timely and professional manner.

  • Represent the company professionally in customer meetings, market visits, and business development activities.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • 3-5 years of relevant B2B sales experience in East Africa, ideally in ingredients, chemicals, industrial products, FMCG B2B, or related sectors.

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, negotiate, and close business with discipline and persistence.

  • Comfortable with field sales activity, pipeline management, commercial reporting, and CRM usage.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across functions in a growing company environment.

  • Self-driven, organized, and accountable, with good prioritization and time management.

  • Valid driving license required; own car is an advantage.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


Employment Terms:

  • This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Compensation includes a fixed salary together with a sales incentive plan (commission and/or performance bonus), in line with company policy.

  • A probation period may apply in accordance with the offer letter and applicable Kenyan law.

  • Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
