Qualifications and Experience
a. MSc. Degree from a registered and recognized University in any of the following areas of specialization: Analytical Chemistry or Natural Products Chemistry.
b. BSc. Degree from a recognized University
c. KSCE mean Grade C+ (plus) or equivalent and above.
d. Have at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a busy Teaching, Research, or Quality Control Laboratory.
e. Experience in operating analytical equipment such as LC-MS/MS, GC/MS, FTIR, UV-VIS, HPTLC, and XRF will be a desirable advantage.
f. Be computer literate.
Responsibilities
While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:
a) Oversee the day-to-day running of the QA laboratories.
b) Prepare and review standard operating procedures, documents, and records as prescribed by ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
c) Ensure proper handling of all samples before instrumental analysis.
d) Carry out chemical analysis using analytical instruments such as LC-MS/MS, GC/MS, FTIR, UV-VIS, HPTLC, XRF.
e) Oversee good laboratory practices in the general laboratory.
f) Develop analytical methods for application in natural products analysis.
g) Perform data analysis and interpretation of analytical results and ensure the correctness of the results.
h) Ensure both periodic and routine inspection of laboratory instruments and documentation of certificates from external calibrations.
i) Ensure proper documentation of Certificate of Analysis and Materials Safety Data Sheets for chemicals, reagents, and products.
j) Assist local and international students and researchers in conducting research.
