StoreKeeper

As our Storekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate control and custody of inventory within the House. Your responsibility does not end with putting products on shelves.

You will monitor stock movement, maintain accurate records, control issues, monitor minimum and maximum levels, support replenishment, participate in stock counts, investigate variances and help ensure that operating departments have what they need without unnecessary overstocking or wastage.

You will work closely with Finance, Procurement, Receiving, Culinary, Food & Beverage and other operational departments.

Your objective is simple:

The right stock. The right quantity. The right place. The right records.

You don't just record numbers.

You question them.

Why is an item moving faster than usual?

Why does physical stock differ from the system?

Why hasn't this product moved?

Why are we repeatedly running out of a particular item?

Why has consumption suddenly increased?

You look beyond the number and try to understand the story behind it.

Hotel operations move quickly.

Stock requirements change. Deliveries can be delayed. An outlet may suddenly require additional supplies.

You think ahead, communicate early and find practical solutions without bypassing controls.

A well run store should not depend on memory.

Your shelves are organised.

Your records are current.

Issues are documented.

Stock levels are monitored.

Reorder points make sense.

Documents can be retrieved.

You work systematically so that other departments can depend on the information you provide.

You follow discrepancies through.

When physical stock doesn't match the system, “there is a variance” is not where the conversation ends.

You help investigate why.

You follow documentation, transactions and stock movements until there is a reasonable explanation or the matter is appropriately escalated.

Storekeeping requires constant communication.

You work with chefs, outlet teams, Procurement, Finance, Receiving and suppliers.

You communicate clearly, professionally and confidently, particularly when stock is unavailable, documentation is incomplete or a procedure has not been followed.
