Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Diploma in Supplies Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, Stores Management, Business Administration, or any other related field from a recognized institution.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse operations in a reputable organization.
- Knowledge of inventory control systems, stock management procedures, and record-keeping practices.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and computerized inventory or ERP systems, will be an added advantage.
- Good organizational, analytical, and record management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods to ensure they conform to purchase orders, delivery notes, and required quality standards.
- Monitor the movement of incoming and outgoing goods and maintain accurate inventory and stock records.
- Maintain optimum stock levels by monitoring inventory and ensuring timely replenishment while minimizing losses and wastage.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, preservation, and rotation of stock items in accordance with established store management procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and well-arranged store environment with proper documentation of all inventory items.
- Issue materials and supplies to authorized users and maintain accurate records of all stock transactions.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconciliations, and prepare inventory reports for management.
- Assist internal and external auditors during stock verification exercises and store audits.
- Prepare and process store requisitions and other inventory-related documentation for approval in accordance with institutional procedures.
- Monitor stock movement and prepare timely reports on stock levels, shortages, obsolete items, and replenishment needs.
- Safeguard store assets and ensure that all inventory is properly accounted for and protected against theft, damage, or deterioration.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and records for all store transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, safety regulations, and best practices in inventory and store management.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with suppliers, user departments, supervisors, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient store operations.
- Foster a professional, courteous, and collaborative working environment through effective interpersonal communication and teamwork.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.
