Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Executive – Critical Care & ICU Solutions to drive sustainable revenue growth and market share across the critical care and intensive care segment. The role will manage the full sales cycle for advanced ventilation systems, patient monitoring equipment, medical gas systems and high-dependency unit solutions, combining technical expertise with clinical engagement and strategic relationship management. The successful candidate will work with ICU clinicians, critical care specialists, biomedical engineers, procurement teams and hospital management to deliver clinically relevant solutions and position the client as a preferred engineering and clinical partner for life-support
technology across East African hospitals.

Key Position Accountabilities

  • Achieve and exceed assigned annual and quarterly revenue, margin, and unit targets for Critical Care & ICU portfolio (Hamilton Medical ventilators and accessories, advanced patient monitors, infusion systems, defibrillators, and related medical
    gas infrastructure).

  • Develop and execute a structured territory and account plan covering major referral
    hospitals, private tertiary facilities, county hospitals, and emerging Level 4/5 facilities, with clear prioritization of high-potential ICU modernization projects.

  • Conduct thorough needs analysis with intensivists, ICU nurse managers, biomedical
    engineers, and hospital administrators; translate clinical requirements into precise technical proposals and solution configurations.

  • Lead product demonstrations, clinical evaluations, and hands-on trials of ventilators and monitoring systems in real ICU environments, coordinating with the
    client biomedical engineers
    and OEM clinical
    specialists.

  • Prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals, including total cost of ownership analyses, service level agreements, training packages, and staged implementation plans.

  • Manage the full tender and procurement cycle for public and private sector opportunities,
    ensuring compliance with KEBS, Pharmacy & Poisons Board, and institutional
    procurement rules; support bid strategy and post-tender negotiations.

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key clinical influencers (intensivists,
    critical care nurses, biomedical teams) and decision-makers (procurement, medical directors, CEO.

  • Coordinate seamless hand-over to the technical service and applications teams for installation, commissioning, user training, and planned preventive maintenance, ensuring
    high first-time success and clinical adoption rates.

  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and emerging clinical technologies in critical
    care; provide actionable market intelligence to commercial leadership.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, and weekly/monthly activity reports; flag risks to revenue or margin early.

  • Support collections and revenue assurance by ensuring clean documentation, correct invoicing, and proactive follow-up on receivables related to Critical Care accounts.

  • Represent the client at relevant clinical congresses, ICU workshops, and hospital stakeholder forums, reinforcing the company’s positioning as the continuity-of-care partner.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Technology, Nursing (Critical
    Care), or related clinical/technical field.
  • Minimum 4–6years progressive technical sales experience in medical equipment, with at least 3 years focused on Critical Care, ICU, or ventilation/monitoring solutions.
  • Proven track record of closing complex capital equipment deals in public and private
    hospitals in Kenya/East Africa.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical ventilation principles, patient monitoring
    parameters, and medical gas systems.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively.
