- Bachelors / First University Degree in International Studies, business, engineering, Supply chain from a reputable Academic Institution-Preferred
- Apprenticeship / Vocational Course in sales- preferred
- Have proven industry knowledge of the assigned vertical.
- Have operational experience in one of the core transportation modes being sold.
- Have conducted sales leadership workshops, whiteboard sessions with customers, or process review processes with global customers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
- Moderate level of computer literacy.
- Regular local and overseas travel.
- Continuously updates own insight to competitors' business strategy towards the same vertical.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills.
- Critical thinker with excellent qualitative and quantitative skills.
- Have proven verbal and written communications skills with a can-do attitude.
- Energetic leadership personality, highly pro-active and self-motivated.
- Solution oriented and able to work with teams of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Identify a market platform for East Africa and maintain it in terms of:
- Focusing on new businesses (Clients and opportunities),
- Identify new Opportunities from existing clients,
- Review “lost” and ‘’sleeping’’ accounts,
- Identify potential clients based on specific campaigns given by the sales management.
- Update Market intelligence profiles with new, relevant content for the industry verticals and maintain it.
- Distribution of Vital marketing information to build market intelligence.
- Compile market feedback via a survey tool and share the feedback with the sales management.
- Conduct research upon requests and share the countries’ update.
- Generate relevant survey reports for stakeholders.
- Corelog (Customer Relationship Management System) update for data quality management.
- Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to potential customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Attend industry specific conferences and events.
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
- Forecast and track key account metrics.
