Webmaster & Software Developer

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

1. Develop, maintain, and enhance the University’s websites and web portals;
   
2. Manage content management systems and ensure content accuracy and timeliness;
   

iii. Ensure website security, accessibility, responsiveness, and optimal performance;

1. Monitor website usage and implement continual improvements to enhance user experience;
   
2. Support University branding, online visibility, and digital communication initiatives;
   
3. Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications that support University operations;
   

vii. Gather user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions;

viii. Develop web-based systems, portals, dashboards, and workflow automation solutions;

1. Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of institutional applications;
   
2. Develop and maintain Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and related integrations;
   
3. Design, develop, and maintain databases to support institutional systems;
   

xii. Ensure data integrity, availability, confidentiality, and security across University systems;

xiii. Integrate institutional systems and third-party platforms to facilitate seamless data exchange;

xiv. Support interoperability and data exchange between various University applications and systems;

1. Troubleshoot website, software application, and systems-related issues;
   

xvi. Prepare and maintain technical documentation for developed systems and applications;

xvii. Train and support end users on institutional systems and digital platforms where necessary;

xviii. Recommend and implement emerging technologies and innovative solutions that improve service delivery;

xix. Participate in institutional ICT projects, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives;

1. Comply with University ICT policies, standards, and procedures;
   

xxi. Perform any other ICT-related duties assigned by the Information Technology Services Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field from a recognized institution;
   
2. At least three (3) years of relevant experience in web development, software application development, systems support, or enterprise systems management;
   

iii. Demonstrate experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining web-based applications and institutional information systems;

1. Proficiency in modern web development technologies, including front-end and back-end development frameworks;
   
2. Experience in database design, administration, and management;
   
3. Experience in systems integration, API development, and data exchange between applications;
   

vii. Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, business process automation, and workflow management solutions;

viii. Knowledge of software development methodologies, application security, cybersecurity best practices, and secure coding principles;

1. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills;
   
2. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver innovative technology solutions that support the University’s digital transformation agenda;
   
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Internet applications, and relevant software development and database management tools;
   

xii. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;

xiii. Evidence of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning and innovation;
