Browns Plantations Kenya Limited is based in Kericho and Bomet counties, it has over 5000 Hectares of Tea and over 2000 Hectares of forestry. There are four tea factories, nine tea estates, a sawmill, and a forestry operation.


We invite applications for the position of Welder/ Fabricator Artisan which has arisen in our Central Services Division - Engineering Department. This is a graded position – Grade 3.

THE JOB

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, the job holder will be responsible for fabrication, maintenance, repair and servicing factory equipment and other welding jobs while observing and promoting health and safety procedures at the workplace.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate in Mechanical/Production/Plant Engineering

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in welding operations, mechanical Installations and maintenance.

  • Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and ARC Welding

  • Strong soldering and metal-joining abilities

  • Ability to interpret patterns, blueprints, and measurements.

  • Understanding of safety procedures in metalworking environments

  • Team Player
Responsibilities
  • Perform fabrication/ welding work effectively and efficiently within the set workshop
    engineering procedures and policies.

  • Carry out the assigned tasks in a safe manner as per safety regulations and
    engineering policies

  • Carry out assigned jobs in a timely manner in conjunction with colleagues and

  • Perform other mechanical workshop duties as assigned by management.

  • Work in conjunction with other engineering team members to fulfil customer
    requirements.

  • Handle the assigned workshop machinery, tools and related resources in a professional
    manner to avoid waste, damage and unwarranted downtime.
