Description
- Hold a master's or bachelor's degree in conference interpreting, awarded by a recognized university or institute.
- Demonstrate ten (10) years of experience in conference interpreting, including at least four (4) as a salaried interpreter;
- Demonstrate impeccable accuracy, consistency and fidelity in terms of style and nuances of both the target and source languages;
- Demonstrate a proven understanding of the methods for evaluating teams of interpreters;
- To be able to comply with the strictest confidentiality standards;
- Mastering terminological and documentary research techniques and being able to exploit a wide variety of information sources;
Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation services for meetings and events assigned by the Language Coordinator and Management;
- To provide interpretation (simultaneous, consecutive, whispered or liaison), in the appropriate language combination, of speeches, interventions and statements;
- Be prepared to be regularly assigned to sensitive meetings;
- To assume the role of language team leader when designated for a given meeting;
- Assist, where appropriate, the Coordinator of language services in the selection, training and organisation of recruitment tests of potential freelance interpreters for registration on the list of freelancers;
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of a terminological database and in the compilation of specialized glossaries;
- Perform all other related tasks, as required by the department.
