Description
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, or Engineering Management is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in biomedical engineering with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical equipment standards, and safety protocols.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in biomedical equipment management software and MS Office Suite.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee biomedical engineering operations.
Ensure regular maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment.
Manage procurement, installation, and commissioning of new medical devices.
Develop and implement biomedical policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards (local and international).
Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, servicing, and performance.
Collaborate with clinical teams to assess equipment needs and provide technical support.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements.
Prepare and manage the biomedical department’s budget and expenditure.
Monitor emerging medical technologies and recommend upgrades or replacements.
