Description
Qualifications
- Continuous improvement mindset: willingness to improve safety, quality, and equipment reliability
- Qualified coded welder with relevant certification
- 3–5 years’ welding experience in ports, mines, steel, or manufacturing environments
- Experience in MIG, TIG, gas welding, flame cutting, and brazing
- Ability to read welding procedures, drawings, and maintenance instructions
- Willingness to respond to emergency repairs and work with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Carry out structural welding, fabrication, and repairs on container‑handling and workshop equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment safety and availability
- Repair defects based on examiner defect lists and breakdown reports
- Support mechanics and electricians during maintenance and major equipment failures
- Complete work orders, confirmation slips, and maintenance records accurately
- Follow HSSE rules, safe working procedures, and housekeeping standards
- Work shifts and standby duties to support 24‑hour terminal operations
