Job Description
- The Curriculum Leader for the Arts Department is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, engaging, and effective Arts curriculum for all students.
- This role plays a pivotal role in fostering a love for the Arts and nurturing artistic development in students.
Key Duties
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Arts curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and school goals.
- Develop and maintain a progressive curriculum that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills across different age groups.
- Oversee the development and distribution of high-quality teaching materials and resources.
- Mentor and support Arts teachers in their professional development, promoting effective teaching practices.
- Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality.
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to measure student progress
- and program effectiveness.
- Analyze student data to identify areas of strength and weakness, and use insights to inform curriculum improvements.
- Monitor student achievement and ensure all students are making progress in line with expectations.
- Represent the Arts Department in school-wide meetings and committees.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and the wider community regarding the Arts program.
- Oversee and contribute to the extra-curricular Arts program (e.g., art clubs, exhibitions).
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in Arts education.
