Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in international business, Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field.
MBA or certification in export management is a plus.
Minimum 8 years of export sales experience, preferably in PP woven sacks, FIBC, industrial packaging, plastics manufacturing, or FMCG supply chain.
Strong knowledge of export procedures, Nigerian customs regulations, Incoterms, and international logistics.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with West African markets and packaging industry trends.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Willingness to travel internationally.
Responsibilities
1. International Market Expansion
- Identify and develop new export markets, especially within ECOWAS.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, pricing trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Generate high-quality leads through trade fairs, export forums, digital platforms, and industry networks.
2. Export Sales & Business Growth
- Develop and execute export sales strategies to meet monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Prepare RFQs, quotations, pricing proposals, and negotiate commercial terms with foreign buyers.
- Manage key accounts, distributors, trading firms, and end-users in sectors like agriculture, cement, fertilizers, and manufacturing.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with overseas customers regarding orders, production timelines, quality standards, and shipment status.
- Handle customer enquiries, technical clarifications, product customizations, and order follow-ups.
- Resolve complaints promptly and coordinate corrective actions with production and quality control teams.
4. Export Operations & Documentation
- Oversee all export documentation including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Certificate of Origin (NACCIMA/NEPC)
- Export Proceeds Form (NXP)
- Bill of Lading / Air Waybill
- Letters of Credit & bank negotiation
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Customs, and international trade regulations.
- Coordinate shipping logistics, freight forwarders, vessel booking, and export clearance procedures.
5. Coordination With Internal Teams
- Work with production planning for efficient scheduling and timely export delivery.
- Liaise with the QA/QC team to ensure sacks meet international standards and buyer specifications.
- Collaborate with finance to manage LC documentation, export proceeds (E-FORM), and payment follow-ups.
6. Reporting & Analysis
- Maintain accurate export sales reports, forecasts, and customer data.
- Present monthly sales performance, market insights, and action plans to senior management.
- Track export profitability, contribution margins, and logistics costs.
