Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and international standards.
- Proven experience in implementing HSE management systems.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and environmental impact assessments across operational sites.
- Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Drive incident prevention initiatives and ensure proper investigation, reporting, and closure of all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
- Monitor workplace conditions and ensure prompt corrective actions are taken to mitigate identified hazards.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and compliance
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation, including regulatory submissions where required.
- Support environmental management activities, including waste disposal, emissions monitoring, and pollution control measures.
- Support emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a strong safety culture within the organization.
