Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or Higher Diploma in Agriculture, Forestry, or relevant qualification.

• Other Specialist Training or Certifications in Project Management.

• At least 3- 5 years’ experience in a similar position.

• Good command of spoken and written English

• Speaking Luganda is a bonus.

• Experience in report writing.

• Excellent communication skills

• Knowledge and experience in working with farmer groups.

• Must know how to ride a motorbike.

• To provide extension service to registered farmers, farmer organizations, and other actors in the coffee value chain including but not limited to capacity building to increase production, yield, and coffee quality.

• Support farmers and/or farmer organizations to enhance learning, certification support, and traceability of the coffee sourced by the organization.

• Support the establishment of demonstration gardens in conformity with agricultural standards/protocol; siting, maintenance, labeling, on-site training and learning, record keeping, exchange visits, experiments, and reporting.

• Supervise and backstop identified Lead Farmers and farmer group leaders in providing support to farmers and farmer groups on organization programs and activities.

• Implement approved programs and activities including community mobilization, farmer identification and registration (on IT software), conducting training sessions, and follow-up on the trained farmers.

• Participate in and support project designing, farmer needs assessment, and results-based Monitoring and Evaluation activities.

• Perform roles of survey questionnaire enumerator and participate in crop survey research to obtain information on coffee crop acreage, production estimates, and on-farm stocks at strategic times over the crop calendar period.

• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or management.
