Description
Graduate Program trainees will be exposed to the fundamental components of global agriculture and food value chains. Our program is designed to provide a strong basis for a commercial role within the physical commodity business, and to identify and develop talented individuals who have the desire to become active players in the company.

Each rotation will cover different aspects of our global operations such as:

  • Execution/Logistics
  • Controlling
  • Initiation to cash-trading
  • Support to traders

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree with specialization in Agronomy, Accounting & Finance, Economics and/or Business
  • Preferable to have work experience or a summer placement in Commercial environment
  • Expected 2 years’ experience; internships/placements in commercial/trading/analytics a plus
  • Fluency in English is Essential. Professional working proficiency in another language always appreciated
  • International mindset, interest in global markets, agriculture, and trade flows and personal interest in career mobility
  • Good understanding of supply-chain risk, trade finance, and physical market dynamics
Responsibilities
  1. Implementation and supervision of agreed research methodology for crop estimation analytically
  2. Contribution to the development of research methodology and strategy. Continuous review of the methodology being applied in view of observations made during crop tours.
  3. Make projections of potential crop yield per season and share the same with management.
  4. Plan, organize and execute regular crop tours in order to estimate the production using

    1. High quality farmer interviews and
    2. visual yield estimation
  5. Estimate coffee areas by collecting data from official sources regularly
  6. Confirmation of area estimates through visual estimation of area changes
  7. Farmer interviews
  8. Gathering information from third parties like research institutes, nurseries, state farms etc.
  9. Highlight the risks to the crop estimate by working out various scenarios. Assessment of the impact of various scenarios on yields and associated probabilities such as weather, pests, diseases and changing costs or supply of inputs or labor etc.
  10. Close monitoring of weather developments and long term forecasts to update production estimates.
  11. Conducting detailed cost of production studies
