Requirements

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Environment or Geography or Surveying from a recognized University/Institution and a minimum of a post graduate Qualification in the field of Geographic Information Systems/Remote Sensing and its application from a recognized University/Institution.


  • Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the use and application of geographical information systems/remote sensing and its application in Government.

  • Responsibilities

  • Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the use and application of geographical information systems/remote sensing and its application in Government.

  • -        Managing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) unit;

    -        Designing and implementing the use of GIS based tools in planning and execution of national entomological activities;

    -        Supervising the GIS based entomological field data acquisition inorder to ensure compliance with established formats;

    -        Collating, analysing and disseminating entomological spatial information for decision support in implementation of tsetse control/eradication, tick control, apiculture and sericulture activities;

    -        Undertaking capacity building of the multi-disciplinary staff in the application of GIS in vector control and productive entomology;

    -        Regularly updating and producing entomological situational maps;

    -        Collaborating with other MDAs in the use of GIS bases practices and standards;

    -        Undertaking sourcing and assembling of GIS inputs for entomological programs;

    -        Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
