Description
The Inventory Controller is responsible for supporting effective inventory control and stock management for the company’s central store in Gulu and multiple mini stores located in remote operational areas.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Control & Record Management

  • Support maintaining accurate stock records for the central store and remote mini stores.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all stock movements (Goods Received Notes, Issue Vouchers, Transfer Notes).

2. Stock Replenishment & Coordination

  • Coordinate stock transfers from the central store to mini stores.

  • Follow up on supplier deliveries in coordination with procurement.

3. Physical Stock Management

  • Conduct regular physical stock counts (weekly, monthly, quarterly).

  • Support to reconcile physical counts with system records.

4. Mini-Store Support & Supervision

  • Provide technical support to storekeepers at remote sites.

  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed across all stores.

  • Support to train mini-store attendants on stock documentation and reporting.

  • Conduct periodic field visits to verify stock status and compliance.

5. Asset & Tools Tracking

  • Maintain proper records of tools and equipment issued to field teams.

  • Ensure returned tools are recorded and inspected.

  • Support asset tagging and inventory verification processes.

6. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to company inventory policies and procedures.

  • Support implementation of internal controls to prevent theft and losses.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in:

    • Logistics & Supply Chain Management

    • Procurement

    • Business Administration

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory or store management.

  • Experience working in remote or field-based operations is an added advantage.

Key Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • High level of integrity and accountability.

  • Good analytical and reconciliation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management systems.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Problem-solving and reporting skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to ride a motorcycle is an added advantage.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote areas.
