Minimum requirements

  • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Social Services, Public Health, International Development, Gender studies and any other related fields.
  • Work Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience in Child Protection, Protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, Safeguarding, Gender based violence, Humanitarian response, Public health emergency response, Community engagement, Capacity building, Accountability to affected populations, Monitoring and reporting and any other related fields.
  • Skills: IASC PSEA Minimum Operating Standards, GBV guiding principles, risk Assessment and mitigation, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) principles, multi-sectoral emergency responses, reporting
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
Responsibilities
Programme Integration
  • Integrate PSEA and safeguarding across Ebola response programmes.
  • Ensure PSEA is reflected in programme design and community engagement.
  • Include prevention messaging in outreach and communication materials.
Capacity Building and Technical Support
  • Train partners and frontline workers on PSEA, safeguarding and GBV risk mitigation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to partners.
  • Support partners to strengthen implementation quality and consistency.
Monitoring and Partner Compliance
  • Conduct field monitoring of partner activities.
  • Review partner compliance with PSEA standards.
  • Identify gaps and provide practical support to address them.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Identify and assess SEA and safeguarding risks.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, safety audits and mitigation measures.
Complaint and Reporting Mechanisms
  • Strengthen safe, confidential and accessible reporting channels.
  • Promote awareness of SEA reporting pathways.
  • Support community complaint and feedback mechanisms.
Survivor-Centred Response
  • Strengthen referral pathways for survivors.
  • Promote survivor-centred approaches linked to GBV and child protection services.
Coordination and Partnerships
  • Support PSEA coordination within UNICEF and inter-agency platforms.
  • Collaborate with government, UN and implementing partners.
Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor overall PSEA integration across the response.
  • Provide regular updates and a final report.
