Description

The
Country Manager will provide overall leadership for Strathmore Research and
Consulting Centre (SRCC) initiatives in Rwanda including Executive Education,
student recruitment and research with emphasis on comprehensive business
development initiatives to drive achievement of revenue targets while ensuring
costs are managed to achieve surplus targets while ensuring excellence in
program quality and client experience. Cultivate maintain sustainable,
long-term relationships with key stakeholders, clients and program participants.


Responsibilities

1. Strategic
Leadership & Operational Management

·Define
and execute country strategy aligned with organizational goals, monitoring
market trends and adapting plans to capitalize on growth opportunities.

·Build
and lead a high-performing team through clear goal setting, performance
management, coaching, and talent development to drive results and foster
excellence.

·Oversee
day-to-day operations ensuring efficient resource allocation, streamlined
processes, quality standards, and service excellence across all functions.

·Maintain
accountability to the Board of Directors for country performance and strategic
outcomes

2. Lead the Promotion of
key SRCC Rwanda areas of focus

a. Executive Education

Direction/
responsible for sales management and delivery of sales targets in Rwanda.
Leading the preparation, pitching and follow up of proposals for corporate
academies in Country.

· To identify and
establish productive and sustainable links with potential public and commercial
partners in Rwanda, regionally and worldwide, promoting the School as an
integral part of the business community and where appropriate, secure and
implement executive education partnership agreements through the Dean and SBS
Management Committee

·To represent the
Business School in Rwanda and maintain effective working relationships with
senior officers of Public, Private and Statutory Bodies, including professional
associations, learned societies, and the wider business community.

·Direction of programme participants’
recruitment including setting of targets and fees

·Oversight of the quality management of
all SBS Programmes running in Rwanda. With guidance of the Director Strathmore
Global Insitute, liaising with Directors of Academic Departments/ Institutes,
Programme Managers, Client Experience Managers in the development and delivery
of programme curricula, schedules and in monitoring of targets/ achievement

b. Academic Program Promotion- Strathmore
University, Kenya

·Drive the strategic
positioning/awareness of Strathmore University’s academic programs in Rwanda to
build long-term market visibility and enrolment growth.

·Lead high-impact recruitment
initiatives—Open Days, institutional partnerships, and targeted market
engagements—executed through the country team.

·Strengthen strategic relationships
with schools, corporates, and influencers to build sustainable recruitment
pipelines and brand presence
.

c.Research Promotion

·Champion SRCC/SU’s research agenda by
identifying priority sectors and positioning the institution as a
thought-leadership partner in Rwanda.

·Cultivate and manage high-value
relationships with development partners, donors, and industry leaders to unlock
research funding and collaborative opportunities.

·Enable faculty–industry linkages that
generate applied, policy-relevant research and elevate SRCC’s influence in
regional dialogues.

3. Country
Budgetary Responsibility

·Budgetary responsibility for all
Rwanda programs

  • Revenue Targets:
    Seek to meet set revenue targets within stipulated financial and budgeting
    guidelines.

  • Debt Management:
    Collect all program fees relating to programs prior to commencement or as
    per approved financial payment plans. A sale is only complete after
    collection.

  • Cost Management:
    Managing the cost drivers and specific line items as per approved budget

  • manage the
    budgets, targeting a minimum of 30% net surplus

  • Profitability
    Targets: Ensure set margin targets are attained for individual assignments

  • Annual budgets:
    Submit to the director annual budgets within stipulated deadlines

4.Partnerships
and relationship management

  • To identify and
    establish productive and sustainable links with potential public and
    commercial partners in Rwanda, regionally and worldwide, promoting the
    School as an integral part of the business community and where
    appropriate, secure and implement executive education partnership
    agreements through the Dean and SBS Management Committee

  • To represent the
    Business School in Rwanda and maintain effective working relationships
    with senior officers of Public, Private and Statutory Bodies, including
    professional associations, learned societies, and the wider business
    community

5. Management
reports

  • Monthly budget
    and target performance reports

  • Internal
    management reports: Prepare and submit management reports on Executive
    Education activities, activity schedules and plans to the Director SRCC as
    per agreed timelines.

  • Client Reports:
    Schedule progress review meetings with clients, submit client reports
    on-going and concluded projects

  • Responsible for
    managing the Faculty: materials, contracts, claim forms, payments etc

  • Manage materials
    requested by both the Faculty and Participants

6.Any other duties assigned by Director of
Strathmore Global Institute.
