GIZ
is a federally owned enterprise operating worldwide, assisting the German
Government in achieving its policy objectives in the field of international
cooperation. It offers demand-driven, tailor-made and effective services for
sustainable development worldwide. In Tanzania and across the region GIZ
supports the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the EAC in
attaining their development goals. The GIZ Water Programme has been providing
technical and financial support to the Water sector in the country for over 30
years. The GIZ Water Programme implements a portfolio of water projects across
Tanzania. This includes currently: Conservation of biodiversity in wetlands
through integrated water resources management (IKI-Katuma).

GIZ
is therefore seeking to recruit National Personnel to support the Administrative
and Finance department within the Service Unit with administrative functions in
accounting and finance. The National Personnel will be working together with
the core administrative department of the Service Unit TZ within Dar es Salaam.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the verification of documents and invoices before payments

  • Ensure Tax correctness of all invoices before payment

  • Support the finance team with day-to-day accounting activities.

  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of retirement documents from regional offices supported by the service unit.

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial procedures.

  • Assist with receivables and payables administration

  • Report without delay to the person responsible for accounting on all problems in financial administration and compliance with rules

  • Filing financial administration documents and treating information confidentially

  • Assist with scanning and uploading digital vouchers on Cloud as needed

  • performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or similar fields.

  • You possess basic knowledge and first initial experience in accounting, contracts management and administrative duties

  • Good knowledge of the use of Microsoft applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc

  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills

  • Should have good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Initial experience in development cooperation is an added advantage
