Accessto Justice is a key component of building equitable and inclusive societies.GIZ Tanzania, together with the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs(MoCLA), is implementing two projects aimed at enhancing access to justice forwomen, children and other vulnerable groups. The projects aim at addressingdifferent aspects of access to justice including legal and institutionalframeworks, improved legal aid services, alternative dispute resolution andcriminal justice including victim protection. One focus area is gender-basedand sexualized violence. To this end, the projects collaborate with differentactors such as legal aid providers, police, prosecution and judiciary, andcivil society organizations as well as other actors that play a role in GBVprevention and response.
Theprojects are seeking to recruit an intern in the area of access to justice to supportselected activities related to legal and institutional reform, alternativedispute resolution and criminal justice including implementation of workshops,trainings and outreach activities in different regions in Tanzania.
Duty station: Dar es salaam
Fixed term contract- 01.08.2025- 31.01.2026
Responsibilities and Tasks
Supporting project management and the team inday-to-day activities such as logistical support of meetings, minutes of themeetings compilation, online research, etc.
Supporting in the planning, realization andfollow-up of events
Supporting the external and internal communicationof the projects, including social media and through the development of articleson events and outreach and communication materials
Supporting the development and implementation of strategies andactivities enhancing the legal aid system and services nationally and in thepilot regions of the projects
Contributing to reports, summaries or analysis in the fields of expertise
Supporting other ad hoc tasks in the thematic scopeof access to justice, as required such as drafting of background documents, onepagers and analyses.
Requirements:
Youhave a bachelor's degree in law. You possess basic knowledge and first initialexperience in project management and development cooperation.
Knowledgeand at least one year experience with outreach and awareness-raising activitieson violence against women and children and their rights.
Practicalexperience in the field of legal aid provision to local communities or at universitylevel.
Goodintercultural skills, experience in working in an international context,excellent communication and cooperation skills and strategic thinking are amongyour strengths. You can express your thoughts very well in writing and orallyin English and Kiswahili.
Youare a team player, well organized, able to work independently and intime-constraint settings, grasp new topics and knowledge areas quickly. You area proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
