Requirements for Appointment:

• Certificate in Animal Health Production or veterinary Technology from accredited and recognized institution;
  
• At least Two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a research or teaching laboratory;
  
• A minimum of KCSE Mean Grade of C-(Minus);
  
• Must be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board;
  
• Must possess animal handling and restraining skills;
  
• Proficiency in computer applications;
  
• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding ethical care and use of animals; and
  
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
  

• Animal husbandry: Providing daily care for laboratory animals (mice, rats, rabbits, etc.);
  
• Health monitoring and bio-containment: observation of animals for signs of illness and maintaining general hygiene in the facility;
  
• Technical assistance: Assisting learner and researchers with animal restraint, vaccination, dissections, sample collection and administration of treatment; and
  
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
