All recruited farmers must be vetted and a risk assessment carried out before
they are engaged by issuing them with a signed growing contract.

3.
Do farmers trainings on good agricultural practices.

4.
Ensuring planting is done on weekly basis as per the region planting program.

5.
Ensure that the traceability procedure is observed at the field level:

a)
Each farm should have a sketch map showing the location of each block.

b)
All blocks must be labelled appropriately.

c)
All farming activities and records must be traceable to the block.

d)
Harvesting shall be done per block, each crate clearly identified using the
crate stickers.

Carry out pests and diseases management

a)
Implement and monitor appropriate IPM methods (such as crop rotation, use of
sticky traps, farm hygiene etc.)

b)
Ensure that farmers observe total farm hygiene.

c)
Consider the resistance to diseases and pests for various varieties of seeds
and make recommendation of the appropriate variety to plant in the region.

d)
Do timely scouting for pests and diseases and make the appropriate
recommendation to the farmer.

e)
Ensure that farmers use only the approved pesticides. In this ensure that all
farmers have a valid copy of the list of approved pesticides.

f)
Supervise the process of pesticide mixing and application.

g)
Ensuring farmers observe pre-harvest intervals.

7.
Advise farmers on fertilizer use.

8.
To ensure that out grower farmers’ operations in the area adhere to company
policies, procedures and other relevant marketing standards (i.e., Farm
preparation for internal and external audits)

9.
Maintaining the plantings records, fertilizer application records, scouting
records, spray application and harvesting records, and produce dispatch records
(i.e., the PCN) for your region.

10.
Doing monthly and weekly predictions of what is expected from the region.

11.
Reporting any non-compliance or any problem with food safety and quality
management system to QA Supervisor/Pack house manager/Compliance manager.

12.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Management from time to
time.
