IMS Afrique Mobility, a fastest growing digital insurance company in East Africa is looking for a County Sales Manager to lead the sales team covering one of the 47 counties in Kenya to sell motor insurance to achieve the required revenue and margins. As part of the role, the Manager will work to drive sales of motor insurance, recruitment and training of sales agents, Matatu Saccos, Taxi and transport companies in their respective counties.


Responsibilities

IMS Afrique Mobility, a fastest growing digital insurance company in East Africa is looking for a County Sales Manager to lead the sales team covering one of the 47 counties in Kenya to sell motor insurance to achieve the required revenue and margins. As part of the role, the Manager will work to drive sales of motor insurance, recruitment and training of sales agents, Matatu Saccos, Taxi and transport companies in their respective counties.



  • Lead all sales and marketing operations within the assigned county.
  • Recruit and retention of independent sales agents, matatu and psv transport saccos.
  • Implementing training programs to support skill development and competence.
  • Market development
  • Implement projects to grow Digital Insurance through direct sales and reseller sales channels by more than 10x
  • Oversee opening of self service Agency Accounts for matatu saccos and sales agents.
  • Optimize all aspects of sales operations, including customer acquisition, agency registration, training, and after-sales service, to maximize profitability.
  • Hire, manage and retain sales representatives to maximize their efficiency in achieving the required number of presentations and client visits
  • Coach sales representatives on how to overcome blocks to increase the sales conversion ratio and retention of existing clients
  • Recruit independent agents (sales representatives, matatu saccos, taxi operators, companies) to sell digital motor insurance
  • Manage revenue collections to minimize risk to the organization

Qualifications

  • Degree or higher level education in a business related course, preferably in a sales and marketing
  • Previous experience in significantly scaling up product sales
  • >2 years’ experience in consultative B2B selling
  • >3 years experience in building and managing sales teams, preferably in direct sales, with a clear track record of high performance
  • Aptitude for numbers and data-driven decision-making, Building healthy, prosperous communities
  • Knowledge of insurance market for public transport operators preferred or ability to learn technical knowledge quickly
  • Coachable – a desire to learn, constantly improve and act on feedback
  • Willingness to work outside of Nairobi and travel to support the sales team approx. 80% of the time.


Remuneration for this role is on a highly rewarding commission-based structure. However, there are special terms for County Sales Managers and Sales Agents from the Insurance Industry with more than 2 years of experience issuing over 2 Million API Annually.
