We are an FMCG manufacturer and distributor based in Nairobi, Kenya for the past 65 years specializing in the manufacturing of various food products such as ice creams, yogurts, chocolates, condiments & sauces amongst others; under well-known heritage brands in the country.


About the position:

We are looking to recruit an experienced, driven, independent and motivated individual to join us as a Branch Manager at our distribution center in Mombasa County and head up the entire coastal region tasked with managing the entire branch operations and achieving the region sales plan with an emphasis on new business development, growth, profitability as well as people management and development.


Responsibilities

About the position:

We are looking to recruit an experienced, driven, independent and motivated individual to join us as a Branch Manager at our distribution center in Mombasa County and head up the entire coastal region tasked with managing the entire branch operations and achieving the region sales plan with an emphasis on new business development, growth, profitability as well as people management and development.


  • Direct all operational aspects of the branch operations including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration, and sales.

  • Asses local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.

  • Develop forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans.

  • Manage budgets, allocate funds appropriately, meet goals and targets

  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities

  • Share knowledge with headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs

  • Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development, and motivation

  • Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly

  • Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws

  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company

  • Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration

  • Supervising Sales Invoices and Loading of Trucks

  • Planning of inventory and placing orders from Head Office and receiving goods in distributions outlet from upcountry.

  • Petty Cash reconciliation

  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly stock reconciliation


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in similar position (preferably in FMCG / Food Industry will be an added advantage)

  • Excellent leadership skills with at least 5 years’ experience in senior management in a dynamic company or organization.

  • Track record in achieving business targets, compliance and meeting legal/quality requirements.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, managerial, leadership, communications, negotiations, customer service and interpersonal skills and team player.

  • Experience in new product and market development.

  • Good knowledge of an ERP as well as excellent skills for MS Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point)

  • Good planning and forecasting skills as well as filing and paperwork skills to ensure all documents are well filed and preserved for future audit purposes.
